Scope of Work
As part of a capital improvement plan, the Taggart Compressor Station upgraded several pieces of outdated equipment. The compressor station is a natural gas compression and storage facility. Opened in 1955, it is DTE’s oldest gas compressor facility and has 21 compressors that push natural gas into more than 2,300 acres of underground storage reservoirs.
Our experience working at compressor stations spans overs 15 years. From maintenance and repairs of valves, motors & fans to complete overhauls of compressors. Our scope of responsibility included the installation of two (2) natural gas heaters with the associated stacks, burner boxes and platforms.
When working on or around gas facilities, special processes and procedures are required in order to maintain safety. The installation team completed the upgrades under specific Operator Qualifications (OQ) adhering to the Office of Pipeline Safety Regulation safety standards.
